The character has finally received long-awaited new voice lines.
In 2015, developer Ulf Andersson, the original voice of Wolf, departed from Starbreeze Studio. For years, the character’s awkward silence in specific scenarios and his crudely stitched-together dialogue became a recurring meme among the community.
However, the era of those jokes is coming to an end. The modding group currently overseeing Payday 2 maintenance has officially announced Ulf’s return to the role:
Unfortunately, Wolf’s voice acting was neglected for quite some time—he was missing a vast array of lines, and the obvious audio splices had long since become a community running gag. It’s time to change that! Ulf Andersson, with support from Simon Viklund, agreed to step back into the recording booth to give Wolf a fresh start. We owe them both a huge thank you for making this possible.
New voice clips for Wolf have been integrated into Payday 2, specifically for marking and eliminating Medics, as well as identifying turrets and standard enemies.
Additionally, weapon skins that were previously restricted to Akimbo variants can now be applied to their single-handed versions.
The VR version of the game has also received refinements to improve stability and reduce the frequency of crashes.
Beyond these highlights, the modders have resolved a multitude of bugs; a comprehensive breakdown of the update is available at the following link.
