Of course, the door isn’t permanently shut. Given the monumental success of Expedition 33, a sequel would be a logical step for Sandfall Entertainment should they choose to pursue it. However, because the original story concludes so definitively, there isn’t an urgent need for an immediate continuation.

Cazorla also took a moment to reflect on how significant the project was for his career. “I dedicated two years of my life to Expedition 33, from the motion capture sessions to bringing Esquie to life and participating in the behind-the-scenes work,” he recalled. “This game has fundamentally changed my life. If the team ever wants to collaborate on a future project, I’d be there in a heartbeat.”

He left fans with a cryptic but hopeful thought: “You never know what the future holds.” While many players—myself included—would jump at the chance for more Esquie, we’ll have to wait and see what Sandfall has in store.
