Carmageddon: Rogue Shift Revives Demolition Racing
From 1997 through 2005, the Carmageddon series delivered outrageously explosive racing on PC and consoles. After a lengthy hiatus, Stainless Games revived the franchise in 2014 with Carmageddon: Reincarnation, followed by Max Damage two years later.
At the PC Gaming Show a new spinoff was unveiled — Carmageddon: Rogue Shift.
The title injects roguelite mechanics into the series’ arcade racing. Players will unlock weapons, vehicle classes, and perks, tackle boss encounters, and explore branching maps. Set in a world with a day/night cycle and shifting weather, the streets become infested with zombies after dark. Victory comes only by winning the Carmageddon tournament.
We’re aiming to bring something fresh to both the franchise and the racing genre. Carmageddon is about exploration, experimentation, splattering the streets with colour, and crushing your rivals. We want players to adapt, grow stronger, and gleefully obliterate hordes of zombies behind the wheel of a death machine.
C armageddon: Rogue Shift is being developed by the studio 34BigThings. The game is scheduled to release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC in early 2026.
