Caribbean Legend Update 1.7: Stealth Remaster, Improved Enemy AI, and New Mechanics Released

The developers have implemented comprehensive refinements across various facets of the RPG.

The team behind the pirate-themed RPG Caribbean Legend has deployed Update 1.7, a major milestone aimed at significantly elevating the gameplay experience.

The save system has been completely overhauled, introducing frequent autosaves and an unrestricted number of slots for both quick and automatic saves. This is accompanied by a modernized, high-performance interface featuring integrated filters for easier navigation.

Land-based AI has seen substantial improvements. Elite adversaries now mirror human-like behavior, possessing the ability to feint and cancel attacks to bypass parries, which adds a new layer of depth to tactical encounters.

Furthermore, NPCs on land now exhibit faster reaction times and better spatial awareness. They no longer cluster together and will actively attempt to flank the player, effectively eliminating the ability to easily “kite” groups of enemies.

Stealth mechanics have also been remastered with the debut of the “Stories” system. Currently focused on stealth gameplay, completing a “Story” allows a player to become an established figure within a colony, ending constant harassment from guards. Should a mission fail, it no longer necessitates an immediate reload, allowing for more organic consequences.

Other notable changes and additions include:

  • Ships, coastal forts, and sentries no longer possess “X-ray vision” and will refrain from attacking players sailing under a friendly flag.
  • The license system has been redesigned; they are no longer physical inventory items. A license is revoked only after three infractions—which are now tracked in the UI—and purchasing a new one resets the violation count while extending the duration.
  • Pennants (national flags) have been reworked. Rather than leveling them up, players must now capture ships to acquire their colors. Successfully boarding a vessel grants a flag specific to that ship’s class and nation.
  • Officer salaries have been rebalanced, making the maintenance of high-level crew members significantly more costly. To compensate, the “Trustworthy” perk has been enhanced.
  • Addressed several technical issues regarding item duplication exploits.
  • Introduced 11 new achievements for players to unlock.
  • A new dynamic camera shake effect has been added to heighten the impact of intense scenes.
  • Recruiting captured captains now accounts for rank disparity; seasoned captains will no longer serve under an entry-level player.
  • The story mode now includes a fully realized epilogue featuring two distinct endings.
