Capcom continues to build momentum for the upcoming launch of MHS3, slated for this March.
The developer has released a brand-new narrative trailer and over 13 minutes of deep-dive gameplay for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.
Titled “Go Forth,” the latest cinematic focuses on the journey of Ace Ryder, a veteran Rathalos rider. The plot unfolds amidst escalating international tensions and the arrival of a cryptic threat known as the Encroachment. Departing from the series’ usual “zero-to-hero” trope, the protagonist is already an established combatant, which allows the story to start with significantly higher stakes.
The main campaign is expected to take approximately 30 hours to complete. For those engaging in side quests and secondary activities, the total playtime is estimated at 40 to 50 hours. The developers noted that their primary focus was on creating a dense, meaningful narrative experience rather than focusing heavily on post-game grinding.

The gameplay footage features insightful commentary from Lead Designer Wakahara, who walks through various mechanics, including character customization and the evolution of the combat system.
Combat remains strictly turn-based. Capcom deliberately chose not to integrate real-time action elements, stating that the main Monster Hunter series already provides that experience. Instead, this sequel introduces a stamina bar for skill management and a unique energy gauge for monsters. Once a monster’s energy is depleted, it enters a weakened state, allowing players to unleash powerful techniques that fill the Kinship Gauge and activate special abilities.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is scheduled to launch on March 13, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
