Black Panther 3 Production Set to Begin Next June

The upcoming sequel is reportedly titled “Shadows of Wakanda.”

Marvel Studios is gearing up for the third installment of the *Black Panther* franchise. According to the latest updates from the Film and Television Industry Alliance database, principal photography for the project—working under the title *Black Panther: Shadows of Wakanda*—is scheduled to kick off on June 15, 2026, in London.

The production listing provides a brief glimpse into the plot, stating that the film “delves into Wakanda’s newfound vulnerability following the loss of T’Challa, as Shuri navigates her dual path as both a formidable warrior and a sovereign leader.”

This confirms that Letitia Wright will return to lead the cast as Shuri. Furthermore, the legendary Denzel Washington is officially attached to the project. Director Ryan Coogler has reportedly written a specific, yet currently undisclosed, role tailored specifically for the veteran actor.

While a theatrical release date has yet to be finalized, the filming window suggests the narrative could be positioned either as a lead-in to or a consequence of the events in *Avengers: Secret Wars*.
