In addition to new content, the Battle Pass is getting a significant overhaul to be more “gratifying.” Challenges have been streamlined to facilitate faster rank progression, with a focus on removing cumbersome, mode-specific hurdles. Notably, sidearm-only challenges are being scrapped, and combat assists will now contribute to your daily goals, making it easier than ever to unlock top-tier rewards.

On the gameplay front, both weapon balancing and character movement have received fine-tuning, alongside audio improvements designed to offer more precise feedback during chaotic encounters. EA and Battlefield Studios also took the opportunity to update fans on the reimagined Golmud Railway map. Originally a staple of Battlefield 4, this fan-favorite is being meticulously rebuilt, and early playtest feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Testers have highlighted that the map maintains its classic DNA while introducing meaningful improvements, such as a revamped northern town district and additional cover to better accommodate infantry-focused engagements. Golmud Railway is slated for a future season, but for now, players can prepare for the launch of Battlefield 6 Season 2 on February 17.

Following a 23-year rivalry, Battlefield 6 officially became the top-selling title in the U.S. for 2025, finally surpassing the Call of Duty franchise.
