Furthermore, EA confirmed that Golmud Railway is being meticulously reconstructed for Battlefield 6. This won’t be a simple asset port; instead, the map is being redesigned from the ground up to leverage current-gen tech. The goal is to preserve the combined-arms intensity that made the *Battlefield 4* version so memorable while optimizing the layout to support modern mechanics.
Interestingly, this iteration of Golmud Railway is set to be the largest map in the game’s history, providing the developers with the freedom to “scale up the engagement” significantly.
Regarding vehicular balance, upcoming Battlefield Labs sessions will focus on the AH-6 Little Bird. This will allow the team to analyze its integration into the broader vehicle ecosystem and ensure it remains a viable yet balanced option across various combat theaters.
Looking past the Season 2 launch, Battlefield Studios is investigating updates to Aircraft Radar to enhance the flight experience. They are also exploring a tuning pass for rocket-vehicle interactions, which will include adjustments to launchers like the RPG and TOW, alongside vehicle-handling tweaks to improve defensive playstyles.
As for the much-requested Solo playlist in the Redsec battle royale mode, EA remains non-committal, stating that more internal evaluation is required before making any permanent changes.
“Our focus is on identifying where Solo play fits within the competitive landscape—evaluating its impact on pacing, survival rates, and player retention,” EA explained. “These trials are part of a data-driven strategy to ensure the Battle Royale structure is robust, rather than just rushing into a static feature.”
Battlefield 6 Season 2 is currently slated for a February 17 release, following a Season 1 extension that rolled out on January 20.
