Battlefield 6: December Anti-Cheat Metrics

Battlefield 6: December Anti-Cheat Metrics

Attention, Specialists,

Following our Season 1 Briefing in November, our security teams have been meticulously monitoring the dialogue surrounding fair play in Battlefield 6. We recognize that much of this discourse currently relies on incomplete data, and providing a single summary per season is insufficient for maintaining transparency. Moving forward, we are committed to sharing regular dispatches that break down our latest anti-cheat performance and explain the underlying trends.

In evaluating this data, it is important to understand that cheater-related statistics naturally fluctuate based on several variables. We see improvements when we optimize reporting systems, deploy fresh detection logic, or deepen our technical understanding of specific exploits. Conversely, metrics may shift when malicious developers identify new vulnerabilities or capitalize on system bugs. These cycles are anticipated and serve as a strategic guide for our defensive efforts.

December Review: Impact and Metrics

Match Infection Rate (MIR): The percentage of total matches compromised by at least one illicit actor. This metric includes all suspected instances of cheating, including those where we are still accumulating evidence for enforcement.

Throughout December, the MIR began at 2.532%. This figure saw a mid-month decline to 2.025% before rising to a peak of 3.090% as the holiday period drew to a close. By comparison, the peak MIR during our previous October-November reporting window reached 2.580% on November 28th.

Over the course of the month, EA Javelin Anti-Cheat successfully neutralized 580,389 attempts to manipulate or tamper with the game before they could impact live matches. We also maintained surveillance on 224 unique cheat-related programs, hardware exploits, and distribution networks. Of those entities, 206 (91.2%) reported service failures, confirmed detections, or were forced to shut down their operations entirely.

We are entering the new year with a relentless focus on detection and prevention. You can expect our next update regarding January’s performance in approximately one month, featuring deeper insights to keep you informed.

Play fair—we’ll see you on the front lines.
