
Still, Douse cautioned that the spectacle has downsides: “I feel bad for his teams who are just trying really hard to make players happy.” That sympathy feels especially relevant given Pitchford’s public statements urging refunds and advising some players to move on if they can’t achieve desired performance.
There’s merit to Douse’s point that seeing a developer speak candidly can be refreshing compared with polished corporate responses—but Pitchford’s Twitter outbursts have amplified routine performance complaints into a public theatrics that distract from the work of his teams.
