Microsoft have introduced As Dusk Falls, an interactive narrative game about two households that cross paths a number of instances over some fairly dramatic and emotional circumstances. It’s the debut game from Interior/Night, a studio based by Caroline Marchal, former lead game designer at Quantic Dream on games like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. The studio’s aim is “to tell relatable, inclusive stories, grounded in real life”, and from the sounds of issues they’ll be tackling some fairly powerful themes about overcoming your previous and shifting on.
“Most stories start at the beginning,” says Marchal, “but this story starts in the middle, gradually widening outward to encompass multiple points of view over a thirty year span; a story spiral that explores the past, present and future of a single dramatic night.”
After that first fateful assembly throughout a robbery-gone-wrong in the midst of the desert, the lives of those two households change into entwined. From the trailer it appears like a few the youngsters from every household find yourself staying in contact, although the lad appears awfully stunned when the lady rocks up on his doorstep speaking about some letters he’s despatched her. There’s clearly much more to it and, yeah, I’d positively prefer to see the place all of it goes.
Marchal mentions that they’re wanting ahead to sharing extra “in the coming months”, so I’m certain we’ll discover out extra quickly.
As Dusk Falls is coming to PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox One. Check out the Interior/Night website for particulars.
