On February 24, ARC Raiders underwent a major transformation with the release of the Shrouded Sky update.
Embark Studios has officially deployed “Shrouded Sky,” the most substantial content drop for ARC Raiders in 2026 thus far. This expansion significantly enriches the game’s world while simultaneously implementing a strategic pivot in how the project handles PvP interactions.
Shrouded Sky introduces two formidable new ARC-class adversaries, a high-intensity “Hurricane” weather system, and an array of fresh missions. Furthermore, the “Dam Battlegrounds”—already a fan-favorite locale—has been expanded with a brand-new playable sector to explore.
However, the update focuses on more than just adding content. According to the patch notes, the developers have opted to remove PvP-centric mini-trials. These challenges previously allowed players to earn credits for the Raider Deck, the game’s version of a free battle pass.
In earlier versions, these objectives often required players to inflict damage on rivals using specific munitions or to scavenge gear from fallen Raiders. Such tasks naturally incentivized a more aggressive playstyle and forced direct confrontations. Moving forward, these combat-oriented requirements have been entirely phased out.
The studio also noted that they have overhauled several existing trials and introduced new objectives that prioritize core gameplay loop progression without placing a mandatory emphasis on player-versus-player combat.
