Apple TV+ has officially pulled the plug on “The Last Frontier,” opting not to move forward with a second season, per reports from Variety.
The survival drama made its debut in October, transporting viewers to the rugged landscapes of Alaska. The narrative followed Frank Remnick (portrayed by Jason Clarke), a solitary U.S. Marshal forced to hunt down a group of dangerous inmates who escaped following a catastrophic prison transport plane crash.
The series featured a high-profile ensemble cast, including Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Clifton Collins Jr., and Johnny Knoxville. Developed by Jon Bokenkamp, the creator behind “The Blacklist,” the show’s inaugural season consisted of ten episodes. Despite the talent involved, the production struggled to find critical favor, ultimately landing a lackluster 46% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
