After three years, Slime Rancher 2 hits full release with 94% positive Steam reviews — a cozy farming sequel to tide me over until Stardew Valley 1.7

After three long years in Early Access on Steam, Slime Rancher 2 — the cozy farming‑sim sequel many of us were waiting for — has finally launched in full, and fans of the original are already delighted.

Slime Rancher 2 first arrived in Early Access three years ago, stirring excitement and plenty of questions about when the next major update or full release would land. Over that time Monomi Park steadily added new slimes, gadgets and features; the studio later confirmed a 1.0 release for September 23, and that update is now live.

“I’ve been playing since pre‑release,” one player commented today, noting how much the game has improved since its earliest builds. Another review put it simply: if you enjoyed the first Slime Rancher, you’ll likely enjoy this sequel—it’s just as colorful and cozy, with extra polish and deeper ranching mechanics.

I’m heading back in to collect more plorts — Slime Rancher 2 is the perfect stopgap while I wait for Stardew Valley’s teased 1.7 update, which still won’t arrive for a while.
