  • One observant fan noted a clever design coincidence: “I’m not sure if this was intentional, but star-nosed moles actually exist. This fits perfectly,” they said, drawing a parallel between the mole’s anatomy and the holy star symbol of the RuneScape deity Saradomin.

After years of community memes and persistent requests, the developers at Jagex have finally listened. The studio recently unveiled their official plans to bring the Holy Moleys to life.

In a recent blog post focused on world traversal and utility updates, Jagex introduced the Holy Moleys alongside proposed tweaks to Devout Boots. These changes would allow players to revert the boots back into Holy Sandals, which could then be fused with Mole Slippers. Acknowledging the long-running fan demand, Jagex simply stated, “We agree. It’s time.”

While some players have engaged in spirited debates regarding whether the Holy Moleys should be aesthetically or mechanically linked to sandals versus boots, the overall sentiment is one of triumph. Old School RuneScape remains a game where community input truly carries weight.

As per the standard OSRS development cycle, the addition of the Holy Moleys will be subject to a player referendum via the in-game polling system. While the blog post serves as a preview, the community’s vote will be final. Given the legendary status of the “Holy Moley” meme, it seems almost certain to pass—though the irony of a potential rejection would be peak RuneScape history.

Reacting to the news, one celebratory post captured the mood perfectly: “We did it Reddit!”

In other news, one dedicated MMO player spent three years amassing a legendary collection of treasures only to delete them all in a single sitting: “When I check my playtime, the game basically tells me to go outside.”
