We also contacted Ubisoft for further comment and to ask how many staff might be affected. The company’s reply did not specify numbers but reiterated its public statement and noted the changes follow recent adjustments within its studios.

Separately, a statement on the Ubisoft RedLynx website outlines a restructuring proposal the studio says is part of broader efforts to simplify operations, reduce costs, and improve prioritization and efficiency across Ubisoft’s global studio network. The announcement says staff will take part in collective negotiations focused mainly on production and administrative roles, while the technology team working on the Snowdrop engine is not affected.

The RedLynx notice says the proposal, if enacted, would involve a reduction of up to 60 positions and a strategic refocus of the studio from a multiplatform operation toward a studio specialized in smaller-screen projects, beginning with two unannounced mobile titles the studio is leading.
