While an eight-week postponement is never ideal for eager fans, early previews suggest the wait will be well worth it. Reflecting on a recent hands-on session, GR’s Ali Jones noted, “From what I have experienced, IO Interactive is remarkably close to capturing the essence of the franchise. Any minor friction points seem to stem from the genre’s inherent challenges rather than a lack of execution. If these are the only hurdles remaining, 007: First Light could very well be the ultimate Bond simulator.”
Interestingly, the CEO of IO Interactive previously noted that the delay of GTA 6 has made the “Spring 2026 window look very promising,” though he believes Rockstar’s eventual release will provide a massive boost to the gaming industry as a whole.
