Ubisoft has turned its focus back to The Crew franchise and made a move many are calling historic: The Crew 2 now supports an offline mode. The studio also revealed its plans for the third year of support for The Crew Motorfest.
Players of The Crew 2 can now toggle between the online experience and a new hybrid mode that enables play without an internet connection. The offline build removes online-dependent features — multiplayer, leaderboards and shared paint schemes. Ubisoft described the change as “an important step for long-term access to the game.” Gregory Corzhe, the series’ producer, said the update was delivered in response to fans’ requests for a single-player option.
For The Crew Motorfest, the third year of live support will kick off on November 5, 2025, with the start of Season 8. The update brings two new playlists — Street Riders and BMW Heritage — a new wagering system called “Monkey Bet,” and a Free Race mode featuring GPS navigation. Players will also receive new cars, including the BMW M2 CS, fresh wheel options, and more precise vehicle positioning controls. Additionally, Motorfest will be officially verified as a Steam Deck-compatible title.
Ubisoft has billed Season 9 (March 2026) as the franchise’s largest update yet: it will introduce NASCAR content, a new map, revamped physics, the TrackForge track editor, and a dedicated RC-car category with its own race types. The third year of support will conclude in July 2026 with the launch of Season 10, details of which have not been disclosed. Ubisoft emphasizes that both games will continue to receive long-term development and support.
