The 33rd Meredith Music Festival in Victoria, Australia has revealed a standout lineup led by art-rock visionaries TV on the Radio, the inimitable Perfume Genius and Men at Work co-founder Colin Hay.

Set against the rustic backdrop of the Meredith township, this three-day gathering has earned its reputation through meticulously curated bills, a strong communal ethos and an infectious atmosphere of goodwill.

Running from December 5th to 7th, the upcoming festival marks TV on the Radio’s triumphant Australian return after a decade away, introduces J-pop innovators Atarashii Gakko! to Down Under audiences for the first time, and welcomes back the evocative Perfume Genius.

Also on the roster are Men at Work frontman Colin Hay, the hypnotic soul grooves of Thee Sacred Souls and UK rap standout Pa Salieu, alongside an array of homegrown talent including Folk B–ch Trio, Mildlife, RONA., Radio Free Alice and Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice.

True to Meredith tradition, tickets are distributed via a ballot system, with entries open until 10:33 PM AEST on Tuesday, August 19.

What began in 1991 as an intimate 200-person celebration has blossomed into a marquee event, annually drawing international icons from Kraftwerk and Jamie xx to Liam Gallagher, The Breeders and Billy Bragg.

“Over the years it’s grown in scale and spectacle,” organizers reflect. “Each season sows the seeds for the next, preserving the 1991 spirit while embracing evolution.”

In addition to its eclectic lineup and immersive community vibe, Meredith is famed for its unwavering “no dickhead policy”, a cornerstone since the festival’s inception.

“It’s about looking out for yourself and the people around you,” the policy states, “and above all, treating everyone with courtesy and respect.”
