There will be a Dragon Age announcement in December

November 29, 2018 You won’t have to wait much longer for info on the new Dragon Age game.

BioWare has been teasing a Dragon Age 4 for what seems like an eternity, and those teases might finally pay off soon. An announcement on whatever the new Dragon Age is will happen “in the coming month,” so we won’t have to suffer another year without knowing what’s in store for the series.

If you’ve been paying attention, BioWare GM Casey Hudson writes, “you know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff. Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy. Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look).”

The obvious spot to expect major December gaming news is among The Game Awards announcements, though we don’t have any specific clues that it’ll appear there. It is one of the few major game events scheduled for the remainder of the year, and the folks at BioWare will be at the event, if only to debut a new trailer for Anthem.

In the blog post, Hudson also notes (again) that new Mass Effect projects are in the works, though there’s no specific timetable on when these will be revealed. Since the much-maligned Andromeda came out just last year, it’s unlikely we’ll hear about this potential title anytime soon.

A new Dragon Age was officially confirmed earlier this year, but only in the vaguest terms with a pair of tweets from Hudson and executive producer Mark Darrah.

It’s probably far too early to expect a Dragon Age 4 release date in the coming announcement, but you can bookmark that link for further details on the fantasy follow-up as soon as they come in.
