A week has elapsed since the conclusion of The Game Awards 2025, and creator Geoff Keighley has stepped forward to share the final performance metrics for the event.
The showcase elicited a spectrum of responses from the audience. While many fans were thrilled, immediately populating their wishlists with the newly revealed titles, others expressed disappointment over a perceived lack of industry-shaking “megaton” announcements.
However, the primary objective for the organizers is to capture global attention and foster engagement that persists until the following year’s ceremony. By that metric, the 2025 event was an undeniable triumph.
Writing on X, Geoff Keighley confirmed that TGA 2025 was the most-watched iteration in the show’s history. The event amassed a staggering 171 million views, marking an 11% increase over the previous year. These statistics include the primary broadcasts (with the exception of the initial Prime Video stream) and over 23,000 community co-streams on YouTube and Twitch—a 50% surge in collaborative viewership. Additionally, the volume of discussion on the social platform X rose by 12%.
