Starfield’s newest update introduces enhanced support for Creations alongside several fixes for quests, vehicles, the user interface, and the Shattered Space DLC. Explore the complete update notes below!
This update is currently available in Beta on Steam. To join the Starfield Beta, please follow these steps:
- Open your Steam Library and find Starfield
- Right-click on “Starfield” and choose “Properties”
- In the properties window, select “Betas”
- From the beta dropdown menu, choose “beta”
- Allow the application to download the new version and launch

FEATURES
- Added Very Low display settings to boost performance on certain devices.
- Creation Kit: Introduced the feature for creators to add new icons to the game.
- Creations Store now includes support for Creation bundles.
- Creation Kit: Supports the upload of Creations up to 2GB in size.
BUG FIXES
GENERAL
- Creations: Fixed a potential error when restoring load order after many mods are installed and removed.
- Creation Kit: Fixed a potential crash when loading a plugin with an ingredient form.
- Resolved a possible control lock issue occurring when switching views while sitting in a pilot seat during landing.
- Fixed a rare movement lock in forced dialogue scenes.
- Resolved a control lock occurring if a vehicle Creation required for a loaded save was disabled.
- Fixed a rare control lock when opening a menu immediately after loading a save during take-off.
- Fixed an issue preventing exit from a vanity camera (PC).
- Fixed a possible crash related to moving or removing buildings at the Main Outpost in Andraphon.
- Resolved a rare crash when entering the Unity.
- Fixed an issue with quicksaves being deleted when rapidly pressing the quicksave button.
- General stability and crash fixes.
- UI fixes and improvements for Creations.
GAMEPLAY
- Skills: The Cargo Link and Robots build limits from Outpost Management skills should now persist after reaching the Unity.
- Weapons: The Space-Adept legendary effect no longer negatively affects terrestrial damage.
- Gameplay Options: Fixed an issue in some interiors that hindered cargo access.
- Gameplay Options: Clarified text for Malnourished and Hydrated status effects.
- Fixed a Grav jumping issue occurring after being hailed in Freestar or UC space.
- Fixed a rare issue affecting items displayed in the Razorleaf.
- Fixed an issue with missiles not awarding XP.
- Fixed a player placement issue when a new creation was installed and a save loaded into the UC Vigilance.
- Fixed an issue where creatures moved to water if stuck.
- Fixed an issue where dropped items lost their stolen status.
- At Hell’s Gate: The Crucible Blade no longer damages ships in orbit when used inside.
- At Hell’s Gate: The Crucible Blade audio now plays correctly after saving or fast traveling.
- The Bounty Board at the Tracker’s Alliance HQ now features the correct audio interactions.
GRAPHICS
- Updated resolutions to support 32:9 and 32:10 as well as more 16:9, 16:10, and 21:9 options.
- Performance: Fixed an issue causing frame rate drops when using the scanner during long play sessions.
- Celestial bodies now remain visible in the sky after entering and exiting interiors.
QUESTS
- All That Money Can Buy: Fixed a rare issue rendering the Trade Tower elevator inoperable.
- In Memoriam: Fixed an issue preventing quest completion if “At Hell’s Gate” is completed with Sarah.
- Perfect Recipe: Shonda recovers if downed while gathering Ashta meat.
- The Starjacker: Adjusted dialogue options for characters post-Unity entry.
- Top of the L.I.S.T.: Control lock resolved after selling survey data to Phil Hill.
- Trackers Alliance: Fixed issue causing bounty scanner quests to time out.
- Trackers Alliance: Fixed issue preventing bounty missions completion by either killing or stunning the target.
- Worlds Apart: Fixed premature planet departure after temple exit.
LOCATIONS
- Mannequins now persist as intended in the New Atlantis Penthouse.
- Shelves and cabinets in the Core Manor, Akila City, are now modifiable.
- Fixed issue preventing some flora scanning.
- At Hell’s Gate: The Plasma Research Facility now appears on the surface map.
- Fixed a visible gap in the Deserted Biotics Lab.
- Vent Hazards now display correctly on Jemison.
UI
- Ship Builder: Fixed issue in ship upgrade menu when only one module is available.
- Ship Builder: Addressed selection issue with large fonts.
- Ship Decoration: Updated names of empty ship modules.
- All buttons now function in Vehicle Builder menu with large fonts.
- Localization: Text for Dehydrated debuff is fully visible in Spanish and Polish with large fonts.
- Localization: Bounty boards at Tracker’s Alliance HQ are now consistently localized.
- Localization: Status effects for Hydrated and Dehydrated regarding sneak attacks are fully localized.
VEHICLE
- A keyboard binding for the boost button has been added (PC).
- A vehicle marker now appears on the player’s compass.
- Fixed a camera issue for players with maxed out Surveying skill.
- Improved logic for exiting the vehicle when partially obstructed.
- The vehicle now deploys when landing in non-spaceport or landing pad locations.
- Fixed visible artifact on the Rev-8 when boosting in foggy conditions.
Shattered Space
- Va’ruun outpost modules are now accessible post-Unity.
- Skills: Deals inside gravity bubbles on Dazra now count towards the Gymnastics skill.
- Fixed issues with lift buttons on the Mourning level in Dazra.
- Weapons: The Penumbra now inflicts bonus headshot damage.
- Performance: Fixed stutter issues in the Well and outside Dazra.
- The Va’Ruun Schimaz’s blade now displays correctly on the Data Menu.
- Fixed lens flare flicker with the Citadel on Dazra.
- Zealous Overreach: Adjusted Mirek’s dialogue options for post-Unity characters.
- Zealous Overreach: Fixed issue if Shadow Station Epsilon cleared before speaking to Ekris.
