Throughout 2025, PlayStation Plus expanded its library by adding 163 titles across its three subscription tiers—Essential, Extra, and Premium. The combined retail value of these games reached an estimated $5,575, marking an increase over the previous year’s total.
Although the number of new additions to PS Plus was lower than that of Xbox Game Pass, Sony’s service remains significantly more affordable. Over the past twelve months, subscribers gained access to over 160 games with a cumulative market value exceeding $5,500.
The PS Plus Premium tier is frequently overlooked despite its extensive catalog. Notably, the annual cost for Premium is nearly half that of an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Sony operates three distinct membership levels: Essential, Extra, and Premium. In 2025, a total of 163 games were introduced across all tiers. With an average retail price of approximately $34 per title, the entry-level Essential plan provided the highest relative return on investment.
While 2024 saw a higher volume of games added to the service, the overall value grew in 2025. This rise is attributed to a higher concentration of PS5-specific titles, which typically carry a higher price tag than older releases or legacy software.
Standout titles featured in the Essential tier during 2025 included Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Dead Island 2, Lies of P, Alan Wake 2, and The Outlast Trials. Meanwhile, the Extra and Premium catalogs saw the arrival of major hits such as God of War: Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. These titles are part of a rotating library; however, unlike Game Pass, PS Plus still does not offer major first-party releases on their launch day.
