Developers are refining workflows to deliver updates more frequently and with higher quality.
Recently, The Indie Stone released a new Project Zomboid development diary. This entry focuses on organizational changes — detailing what has been happening behind the scenes over the past twelve months.
They’ve appointed a new design director: Christian “Serellan” Allen. Christian previously contributed to games such as Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and Halo: Reach.
He also creates mods for Project Zomboid and has logged over 5,000 hours in the game.
Christian’s new position is just one element of a broader reorganization and influx of new talent. With the game, team, and audience all expanding, it became clear last year that we needed fresh, experienced hands for Project Zomboid’s development and production. In October of last year Max Brod from Ballistic Moon joined us as lead producer and has since been promoted to Production Director. That change has helped us become more structured across every department, though it’s probably been most visible externally in our QA procedures and build release cadence. Updates are now far more regular and consistent than anything B41 or earlier versions received. Our recently appointed producer, Yana Marshalkovska‑Duncan, has also played a major role in these improvements.
