AMC is reportedly in the early stages of developing a television adaptation of the cult classic action thriller "Point Break."
The project will be helmed by Dave Kalstein ("Butterfly"). Details regarding the ensemble cast and a definitive premiere date have yet to be revealed.
Kathryn Bigelow’s original 1991 masterpiece starred Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, centering on a rookie FBI agent who goes undercover to infiltrate a crew of bank-robbing surfers. While a cinematic remake was released in 2015, it was largely dismissed by critics and failed to capture the magic of its predecessor.
Furthermore, the original "Point Break" is slated for a theatrical re-release in Russia on May 7, 2026, distributed by Illuzion Kino.
