Path of Exile developers unveil gameplay trailer and details for the “Keepers of the Flame” league

New content will be available on October 31.

In a recent livestream, the developers of Path of Exile shared details about the upcoming “Keepers of the Flame” league, along with the changes and additions that will arrive with the new season.

Players will meet a character named Aylit on the coastal area in Act One, who tasks them with destroying the initial Breach enemies in exchange for a fragment of power. As the story unfolds, players will cleanse Unstable Breaches, face the first major boss — Vruun, Marshal Ksheshta — and later confront other Breach Lords in the endgame. An updated interface will make the mechanics easier to navigate.

At the center of the league is the Keepers’ Monastery — a hub connected to the new Monk class — and the Genesis Tree, a one-of-a-kind progression system. Through this tree, players can create and upgrade “Grafts” that literally grow from the character’s body, granting fresh abilities and attribute boosts. These Grafts consume a special league currency that replaces conventional resources.

Alongside the league, several new mechanics will be introduced. “Bloodline Classes” are secondary subclasses inspired by endgame boss abilities; unlocking them requires returning to older content and defeating the corresponding bosses. New skills will also arrive, including buffs for allied projectiles and proximity-triggered exploding arrows.
