Palworld Developer Dismisses “Dramatic” Pokémon Comparisons Following Card Game Announcement

Palworld Official Card Game

Unsurprisingly, Bucky is not entertaining these claims. After a fan pointed out that numerous IPs successfully maintain card games in the TCG market and that the backlash against Palworld is being exaggerated, Bucky offered a concise, one-word confirmation: “Yes.”

It is worth noting that Pokémon did not invent the trading card game genre. Various other gaming giants, such as Final Fantasy and Digimon, have long-standing presences in the market. However, Palworld‘s transition into physical media was bound to face scrutiny, considering its unofficial reputation as “Pokémon with guns” and the ongoing litigation regarding alleged patent infringement in its core mechanics.

For the time being, we must wait to see if the Palworld Official Card Game can carve out its own niche when it officially launches on July 30.
