With Emre’s debut and Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, fans are now demanding an official crossover event. It’s the perfect opportunity for Emre to don the legendary MJOLNIR armor, but the community’s imagination hasn’t stopped there.
“Imagine D.Va as a Promethean Knight or a support hero with a Cortana-inspired skin,” one user suggested. “And Torbjörn as a Grunt is a must-have.” Others have proposed a Reinhardt skin based on the Brutes, complete with a massive Gravity Hammer—a cosmetic that would undoubtedly be a hit.
While Overwatch often looks to pop culture for its collaborations—such as the recent Hello Kitty event or the Le Sserafim K-pop partnership—it is no stranger to gaming tie-ins, having previously featured content from Persona 5 and Street Fighter. With Diablo and World of Warcraft already represented in-game, it feels like only a matter of time before the Halo universe officially lands on Blizzard’s maps.
