Update 6.0 adds fully customizable corvettes with walkable interiors, an autopilot and EVA spacewalks, on-board co-op missions, a limited-time “Corvette” expedition, the Skyborn set (exosuit and jetpack), Twitch Drops, and DLSS 4 / PSSR / XeSS 2 upscaling. Below is what changed and where to find it.
Main changes
- Corvettes – a new ship class: assembled from hundreds of modules, with fully walkable interiors, room for friends, and autopilot support.
- On-board co-op – your corvette has its own mission board for cooperative system-wide objectives.
- “Corvette” Expedition – a roughly six-week season with exclusive rewards (including Vigilant and Plasma trails, Mecha-Mouse, titles and decals).
- Skyborn – a new 5-piece exosuit and a separate Skyborn jetpack.
- Visual tech – DLSS 4 on PC, PSSR on PlayStation, XeSS 2 from Intel; plus new MBOIT transparency for glass and aquariums.
- Quality of life – full controller rebinding on consoles, more accurate ETA markers, more planets with Ancient Bones and Scrap, and many smaller tweaks.
- Twitch Drops – reward campaigns for watching streams from August 28 to September 1.
Corvettes: build your ship piece by piece
- Where to build. Space stations now feature a Corvette Workshop: design the silhouette, hull and fittings, paint parts, save drafts, buy basic modules, and barter for advanced ones.
- What to build with. Hulls, wings, engines, windows, airlocks, weapons, reactors, shield generators, connectors, decorative parts, and more. Modules drop from planetary containers, in abandoned and crashed freighters, from pirates, frigate expeditions, and mission rewards.
- Interiors. Three living-module styles:
Titan (industrial), Thunderbird (outlaw-style high-tech with exposed piping), and Ambassador (clean lines, glass, soft panels). Adjacent hubs auto-connect with doors; multi-deck layouts use internal stairways. - Life & function. Fit a three-input Refiner, a galley (cook ration packs or… cake), a Living Wall, a Mission Radar, and core décor pieces.
- Cockpits. Titan-class, Thunderbird-class, and Ambassador-class variants—each with its own layout, visibility, and vibe.
Flight and freedom of movement
- Autopilot. Hand over control to the ship; it’ll fly to a station, pinned planet, or mission point while you roam the interior.
- EVA spacewalks. The corvette’s airlock opens straight into vacuum: spacewalks are officially supported—float around the hull with your jetpack.
- Ramp-side teleporter. The corvette can hover over tricky terrain; passengers can teleport to the surface and back.
- Leap off the deck. “Skydive” from the corvette down to a planet—recommended: a little caution and an early jetpack trigger.
Co-op right on board
Your corvette carries a mission board: register as a crew and complete co-op objectives within the local system for reputation and rewards. At the same time, the corvette works as a shuttle for friends between planets and systems.
Corvette Expedition
Kicks off shortly after the update and runs for about six weeks. The story starts with your old ship destroyed and a Sentinel swarm closing in—survive and upgrade your lone corvette to the max. Rewards include posters/decals/titles, the Vigilant Jetpack Trail, Plasma Starship Trail, the Deadeye Cannon for corvettes, and Mecha-Mouse as a unique companion.
Skyborn set
In the Appearance Modifier you’ll find the five-piece Skyborn exosuit (chest, gloves, boots, legs, torso) plus the Skyborn jetpack with gauges, mounts, and a stabilization fan.
Graphics & performance
- DLSS 4 on PC (RTX): higher FPS, lower latency, sharper image—especially noticeable in VR.
- PSSR on PlayStation and XeSS 2 on supported systems.
- MBOIT transparency: correct rendering of glass/overlapping transparencies—corvette windows, glass walls, aquariums, and cockpits look cleaner and more stable.
Quality-of-life upgrades (highlights)
- Full controller rebinding on consoles for every action.
- More accurate ETA markers on waypoints.
- Copy Friend Code on PC and macOS.
- The Space Anomaly docking widget now shows exactly where your ship is parked.
- More planets with Ancient Bones and Scrap; salvage containers are no longer guarded by Corrupted Sentinels.
- “Hover-to-scroll” in several UI windows, faster scrolling in the base-building menu, localized system dialogs on PC/macOS, and robotic fauna now lay metal eggs.
How to start building your corvette
- Head to a space station and open the Corvette Workshop.
- Pick up your first module—this triggers a short tutorial.
- Gather parts: underground containers, abandoned/crashed freighters, mission rewards, pirates, and frigate expeditions.
- Shape the hull and wings, save a draft, buy basic modules, and trade for advanced ones.
- Fit out the interior (Titan/Thunderbird/Ambassador hubs, refiner, galley, living quarters), set up the autopilot, and invite friends aboard.
