Luton-born singer-songwriter Myles Smith has been selected to headline the halftime show for the NFL’s inaugural regular-season game in Dublin, scheduled for September 28.

The Minnesota Vikings will clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers at Dublin’s iconic Croke Park under the league’s International Games banner, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. BST (9:30 a.m. ET).

Emulating the grandeur of the Super Bowl halftime spectacle, Smith will deliver a live performance both to the sold-out crowd at Croke Park and viewers tuning in worldwide.

Since its release in May 2024, Smith’s breakout hit “Stargazing” has amassed over one billion streams, peaking at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching No. 4 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart. This year, he earned the BRITs Rising Star Award—an accolade formerly bestowed upon Adele and Sam Fender—and joined Ed Sheeran on the Mathematics tour.

Accompanying Smith will be The Line-Up Choir, a contemporary ensemble based in Dublin.

“This past year has been extraordinary,” the 27-year-old told Billboard. “Stepping onto a stage like Croke Park for the NFL’s first regular-season game in Ireland is surreal. I’m honored to share this platform with incredible talent from Ireland and beyond, and I can’t wait to bring my music to fans in the stadium and at home.”

Cork native Lyra will perform Ireland’s national anthem before kickoff. Her self-titled debut album topped the Irish Albums Chart in April 2024.

“To sing for my countrymen and international visitors at Croke Park fills me with immense pride,” Lyra said. “I’m grateful to the NFL for allowing me to represent Ireland at this historic event—a memory I’ll cherish forever.”

The 82,000-seat venue previously hosted the 1997 American Bowl preseason contest between the Steelers and Chicago Bears, while Dublin’s Aviva Stadium has seen several college football showdowns in recent years.

Beyond sports, Croke Park has welcomed major concerts by Oasis, Robbie Williams, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen and AC/DC. As the home of the GAA, it remains central to Gaelic football and hurling fixtures.

The 2025 NFL season kicks off on Thursday, September 4, when the Dallas Cowboys visit the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. International fixtures this fall include games in London, Berlin and Madrid, while the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers will open their campaign in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday, September 5.
