GTA VI Takes Over PlayStation: New Boot Screen and PS App Redesign
Sony is integrating GTA VI into the PlayStation ecosystem. The company added a custom splash screen on the PS5 that directs users to the game pre-order page, and the mobile PS App received a visual update themed around the title.
Once pre-orders opened on the PS5, the Welcome Hub widget began displaying the GTA VI logo with a link to the product page. The PlayStation Store layout now highlights the game with trailers and direct links to purchase.
Sony also updated the PS App for iOS and some Android devices. The app icon now uses the orange and blue color scheme associated with GTA VI, featuring the silhouettes of Leonida palm trees. The internal interface of the app remains the same.
Marketing materials now label the PS5 as the best place to experience the world created by Rockstar. Both companies plan to promote the game leading up to and following the launch to turn the release into a major event.
These visual changes have not yet reached the other social media accounts for PlayStation, though updates there seem likely.
