Bethesda to Enhance DOOM Graphics on PS5 Pro Without Performance Loss
DOOM: The Dark Ages receives a PS5 Pro patch on July 7 featuring an updated version of PSSR technology.
This update arrives alongside the Revelations expansion. Bethesda aims to deliver the clearest image possible on Sony hardware through this patch.
PSSR technology employs machine learning to analyze motion, depth, and lighting data to sharpen the final output. These refinements clarify small details such as falling snow, chains, spikes, sparks, debris, and distant enemies. These elements remain sharp during movement without flickering or blurring.
The visual improvements stand out most during intense combat. Enemies and environments retain higher texture detail, while visual effects appear less cluttered. The idTech8 engine continues to balance dynamic resolution with high performance.
