Mexican Ninja Gets a Deadlier Panda Boss and Sharper Combat in Demo Update

Amber Studio has released a major demo update for Mexican Ninja, a 2.5D roguelike beat ’em up set in Nuevo Tokyo. The game imagines a world where Mexican narcos and Japanese yakuza have merged into one corrupt ruling class known as the Narkuzas.

The update focuses on combat feel. The panda boss fight has been rebuilt with deadlier attacks, smarter combos and a cleaner rhythm that puts parry timing under pressure. Controls and moment-to-moment action also received a broad tuning pass, so each slash, dodge and counter should feel sharper.

What changed in the demo

The intro tutorial now ends with a more dramatic sequence, while the progression system adds new Jutsu upgrades and a reworked skill tree. El Cascos has also been adjusted, making that encounter easier to cut through than before.

Mexican Ninja mixes arcade brawler energy with roguelike structure. Runs reshuffle the streets of Nuevo Tokyo, while spirit powers, weapons and Mexican Jutsus shape each build. The developers compare the combat direction to modern beat ’em ups with a stronger focus on mastery rather than simple button-mashing.

The full game is planned for 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. The updated demo is already available for players who want to try the revised combat loop before launch.
