Metro Exodus: Series’ writer asks followers to not betray devs over Epic Store timed-exclusivity

Dmitry Glukhovsky, writer of the Metro collection of books and Metro Exodus’ narrative designer, has requested followers to not “betray” the franchise.

The author addressed followers in an Instagram post, empathising with their frustration over the choice to make the game a timed-exclusive on the Epic Store.

“I’m very sorry about these of you who wished and anticipated it to launch on Steam, and who have been misled by the transfer by the publishers. I perceive that the writer totally and uniquely financed the event of those games, so I belief them with the correctness of this answer.

“Again, we’re all very sorry that you simply’re damage. We simply hope that you’ll not betray us, simply as we’ll keep all the time trustworthy to you, bringing the uncompromised story and uncompromised high quality of expertise.”

The writer’s resolution appeared to take everybody unexpectedly, with Valve calling it “unfair to Steam customers,” and THQ Nordic issuing a statement saying that Koch Media was solely answerable for the choice, “as Metro is their intellectual property.”

Steam users review-bombed the entire Metro series within the wake of the information, main a pissed off developer at 4A Games to state that the boycott may result in the next Metro game skipping PC altogether.

Deep Silver later dismissed the feedback as these of a “hurt,” dissatisfied, and “passionate individual who has seen what was previously nothing but positive goodwill towards his work turn to controversy due to a business decision he had no control over.”
