Riot Games is rolling out an alternative control scheme for moving champions.
The developers of League of Legends published a developer diary detailing this season’s changes. Among the highlights they discussed a new WASD control mode and other related updates.
After several months of testing on the PBE, the team uncovered over a hundred bugs tied to WASD input. The system received multiple refinements during that period — for example, a player suggested letting a single key command a diagonal 45° movement up or down the lane; that option will be added to the accessibility settings.
WASD controls in League of Legends will be available in all queues except Ranked and Normal (Draft) queues.
Additionally, the dynamic camera lock has been overhauled. The team added adjustable camera speed and introduced a “scouting” mode:
When dynamic camera lock is enabled, holding the middle mouse button lets you pan the camera freely. Releasing the button snaps the camera back to its previous position.
