Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a sophisticated RPG set within a meticulously detailed medieval world. A testament to this realism is the game’s approach to equipment: armor requires several underlying layers of clothing to ensure the metal doesn’t injure the protagonist. However, the developers initially envisioned even more granular mechanics.

Martin Klíma, co-founder of Warhorse Studios and the game’s producer, revealed in a recent interview that the team experimented with a dynamic body-weight system. This feature would have meant that not every piece of clothing Henry found would necessarily fit his frame.

In the final release, every male character essentially shares your measurements. Consequently, you can wear just about anything you find.

In the original concept, NPCs would have had diverse physiques—some heavy, some thin—meaning their clothes would often be too loose or too restrictive for the player.

This scrapped mechanic would have required the player to actively manage their weight to ensure their wardrobe remained functional:

If you overindulged, you’d gain weight, and your old gear wouldn’t fit. Conversely, you could go on a diet to reverse the process and slim back down.

Ultimately, the system was omitted from the final game, as the developers deemed it “too eccentric, cumbersome to implement, and not particularly engaging for the player.”
