James Cameron Calls “Die Hard” the Greatest Action Movie of All Time

Renowned visionary James Cameron, the mastermind behind cinematic giants like The Terminator, Titanic, and Avatar, recently weighed in on what he considers the definitive masterpiece of the action genre.

«…Aside from my own? I have the answer for you. It’s Die Hard. Isn’t it? It features the sharpest wit, the most iconic villain demise, and it stands as the ultimate Christmas film» — Cameron remarked during an appearance on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show.

Starring Bruce Willis, Die Hard burst onto the scene in 1988, following the exploits of NYPD officer John McClane as he battles to liberate hostages from a Los Angeles high-rise. The film, directed by John McTiernan, featured a legendary performance by Alan Rickman as the primary antagonist.

Conversely, Home Alone icon Macaulay Culkin recently stirred debate by questioning the film’s holiday status.

«Don’t come for me! While it is set during the holidays, it could just as easily have unfolded on St. Patrick’s Day and still functioned perfectly».

Meanwhile, Cameron continues to dominate the box office following the recent global premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment in his groundbreaking sci-fi saga.
