Infamous Minecraft Anarchy Servers Strengthen Chat Moderation Following Reported Request From Mojang

The revised terms now explicitly state: “Do not create builds, structures, or any other content relating to harmful ideas, hateful symbols, or hateful speech.” This policy change has been reinforced by the introduction of automated chat filters designed to flag explicit language and gameplay restrictions that prevent players from placing abusive text on signs or other in-game objects.

Beyond these internal rules, players are now required to acknowledge and adhere to the standard Minecraft and Xbox terms of service to participate. This shift was foreshadowed in November by a similar crackdown on MinecraftOnline, the community’s oldest public server. It seems Mojang is no longer willing to look the other way when it comes to unregulated environments.

Leaked communications shared on the UncensoredMinecraft subreddit in late 2024 revealed that Mojang’s enforcement team contacted MinecraftOnline moderators with a clear mandate: begin active policing of chat and player behavior or risk being blacklisted. The directive specifically targeted “harmful comments,” warning that failure to maintain these new standards could result in the server being blocked for all players.

Given its controversial history and “questionable” reputation, it was only a matter of time before 2b2t faced the same level of scrutiny from Mojang. The days of total anarchy within the Minecraft ecosystem appear to be coming to an end, at least on the larger, more visible stages.

This regulatory shift coincided with 2b2t opening its doors to players on the Bedrock Edition. By expanding into the console market, the server effectively invited a massive new demographic, including a significant number of younger players. This increased visibility likely forced Mojang’s hand, leading to a comprehensive audit of the server’s environment. While the community remains divided, the era of unchecked chaos in Minecraft is officially receding.
