GTA V Modders Add Exclusion Zones with Radiation, Organ Failure Risk, and Other Mechanics
A dedicated creator has successfully infused San Andreas with the desolate atmosphere of Fallout.
Mod developer VelyXCore recently unveiled a major update for their Grand Theft Auto V project, which integrates survival systems centered around the hazards of radioactive fallout.
The modification establishes several irradiated hotspots across the map, each featuring distinct danger levels. For instance, the Humane Labs facility acts as the “ground zero” epicenter, while the area surrounding Fort Zancudo is designated as a high-threat zone.
Once a player enters these contaminated regions, their character begins to accumulate radiation; the closer they venture to the source, the more rapid the exposure. If left untreated, the protagonist will suffer from organ failure and eventually perish. Players can mitigate these effects by scavenging for gas masks, and the latest 1.5 update introduces a permanent spawn point where this vital protective gear can always be found.
“The Exclusion Zone 1.5” mod is currently available for download via the gta5-mods repository.
