Gone Home designer Steve Gaynor announces next game: Springs Eternal

Fullbright Unveils Springs, Eternal — A Dreamlike First-Person Exploration

Fullbright — the studio known for Gone Home and Tacoma — has announced Springs, Eternal, a first-person exploration game that unfolds around a mysterious hot spring enclave. Revealed during the PC Gaming Show, the title is in active development for PC and is scheduled to arrive on Steam in 2026.

Today Fullbright predominantly functions as the solo-developer label of founder Steve Gaynor. Gaynor previously stepped away from creative duties on a former Fullbright project, Open Roads, in the wake of employee misconduct allegations; the remaining team continued on and released Open Roads in 2024 without him. Now Gaynor is preparing Springs, Eternal for its planned 2026 launch.

Watch the official Springs, Eternal reveal trailer:

According to the press materials, Springs, Eternal places players in Stillwater Springs, a fog-enshrouded retreat of wooded trails and an otherworldly hot spring. Armed with a flashlight, players will trace a delicate, emotive narrative about a romantic relationship that brought them to this place and may illuminate where that relationship will lead.

For the first time in a Fullbright release, Springs, Eternal introduces branching dialogue: players will meet a cast of other lost visitors, and conversing with them will reveal their histories, how those histories intersect with your own, and the hidden, supernatural threads woven through Stillwater.
