A controversy has erupted around the extraction shooter ARC Raiders after it emerged that Embark used generative AI to produce the voices for certain characters. Nexon CEO Junghun Lee went on a livestream to defend the game and its creators, arguing that AI represents a new reality for the industry.
First, it’s important to acknowledge that nearly every games company now employs AI. Yet when everyone is using similar tools, the real question becomes: how do you survive? I believe companies should adopt strategies that enhance their competitive edge.
According to Mr. Lee, AI helps the studio lower costs and speeds up the creation of new content.
