During the New Game+ Showcase, the developers of the dragon simulator DragonTwin unveiled fresh gameplay footage and officially announced the commencement of Early Access.
This is not a conventional Steam release. The creators have opted for an alternative distribution strategy, providing the initial playable builds exclusively to Patreon supporters (ranging from Tiers 1 to 5). Currently hosted on Itch.io, this version serves as the foundational milestone in the game’s trajectory toward a full-scale Steam launch.
The current technical build focuses primarily on perfecting free-flight mechanics. Testers are invited to navigate expansive landscapes featuring dynamic weather systems and a seamless day-night cycle. The development roadmap for the coming months is ambitious, with planned updates set to introduce ground movement, extensive dragon customization, structural destruction systems, large-scale combat encounters, and significant environmental visual enhancements.
Entry into the game will be granted in waves. New groups of backers will receive access at two-week intervals, starting with the highest-tier subscribers. This phased rollout is intended to help the team gather targeted feedback and iron out technical issues before the player base expands further.
