Ira Parker, the showrunner for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has shared new insights into the adventures awaiting the series’ protagonists in its sophomore season.
The upcoming chapter will be adapted from George R.R. Martin’s novella The Sworn Sword. Protagonists Dunk (Peter Claffey) and Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) are set to journey to Dorne, the southernmost realm of Westeros.
The second season is slated to consist of six episodes, with runtimes ranging from 30 to 60 minutes. Parker confirmed that production is already in full swing, with a premiere scheduled on HBO for 2027.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms debuted this past January, with the narrative unfolding a century prior to the events of Game of Thrones. It follows the travels of the earnest knight Duncan the Tall and his diminutive squire, Egg, during an era when the Targaryen dynasty firmly held the Iron Throne.
The series has already garnered exceptional ratings, captivating an average of 13 million viewers per episode and maintaining a 93% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes.
