“Odyssey” Projected to Gross $1 Billion
Christopher Nolan’s epic feature, The Odyssey, is tracking toward a $1 billion global box office haul by the end of its theatrical run, according to industry analysts.
Following a robust opening week, the adaptation of Homer’s classic poem has already amassed $342 million. Projections suggest that total earnings could land between $1.1 billion and $1.3 billion. Should these estimates hold, the film would surpass The Dark Knight Rises ($1.08 billion) to become the highest-grossing project of Nolan’s storied career.
The Odyssey features an all-star ensemble cast, including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron. Universal Pictures invested a $250 million production budget into the project, supported by an additional $125 million marketing spend.
