James McAvoy to star in thriller from “The Death of Stalin” writer
Split star James McAvoy is set to lead an upcoming, yet-untitled project helmed by writer-director Armando Iannucci (The Death of Stalin, Veep), according to Deadline.
McAvoy will share the screen with Alicia Vikander and Taron Egerton. While plot details remain strictly under wraps, insiders describe the film as a paranoid conspiracy thriller. A release date has not yet been announced.
Earlier this year, McAvoy made his feature directorial debut with the musical comedy California Schemin’. Iannucci’s illustrious credits also include the feature In the Loop, acclaimed television series The Thick of It, Avenue 5, and The Franchise, as well as his inventive adaptation of Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield.
