Dispatch to appear at The Game Awards 2026, but developers fear the game will be forgotten

Dispatch became an overnight sensation following its October 2025 debut, yet it narrowly missed the submission deadline for The Game Awards. While the title is expected to be a frontrunner in the 2026 nominations, the developers are beginning to harbor some reservations.

AdHoc Studios is concerned that the game’s momentum might dissipate when faced with 2026’s heavy hitters, such as the long-awaited GTA 6 and a fresh wave of innovative indie projects.

Co-founder Nick Herman remarked:

“We’ve already had word from Geoff [Keighley] that we are eligible for next year’s cycle. The real challenge, however, is whether we can sustain public interest until then.”

Dispatch earned its acclaim through a star-studded cast, a captivating narrative, and an episodic format that kept the community in constant suspense. Interestingly, the game was even nominated for “Best Indie Debut” in 2025, despite the fact that only half of its chapters had been released at that time.

To ensure the game remains fresh in the minds of voters, the developers are planning a strategic push before the next awards season:

“We’re going to drop the romance scenes exactly one week before The Game Awards 2026 to make sure Dispatch is the only thing people are talking about!”
