Crytek unveils Hunt: Showdown “1896” roadmap for 2025–2026 — more players per raid, old content returning and improved anti-cheat

The developers will continue to roll out new content—and more.

Crytek recently outlined its plans for late 2025 and the year after, releasing a roadmap for Hunt Showdown 1896.

In 2025 they intend to introduce new story-driven trials and expand Hunters’ customization options. Update 2.6 will also bring a limited-time event.

They also shared their vision for 2026 — described as “built on a single firm promise to players: to give you more ways to live, fight, and express yourself across the swamps and in the Raspadka.”

Some of the developers’ plans:

  • Bringing back legacy content with revisions — for example, a reworked special condition, “Hellfire.”
  • Requests for Tier 3 Hunters have been heard — “They will return in phases: remaining tied to the free progression systems while also becoming part of new experimental unlock formats for variety and rewards.”
  • Improving the seasonal model: “Your positive feedback on extended battle passes showed this is the right direction for the game’s health and player engagement in Hunt.”
  • Increasing the number of players in a single mission and working on performance optimizations.
  • Strengthening systems to combat cheaters.
  • Ensuring “fair matchmaking.”
