It’s encouraging to hear there were “too many” buffs to include in a single release — many players of all four Vault Hunters hope several skill-tree branches and playstyles will be nudged closer to the dominant meta. There will always be preferred builds, but tightening the power gap gives more viable, satisfying choices.
That said, Timmins has previously said he wants to preserve the fun of wildly overpowered builds — “looters are made to be broken” — so while this update sounds buff-heavy, we shouldn’t rule out selective nerfs. A few standout skills or synergies may be scaled back to keep overall balance in check.
For example, the Siren Vex was called “the strongest Vault Hunter in the entire series” by some players after an unusual bleed-damage interaction surfaced. I wouldn’t be surprised to see that kind of interaction toned down a bit. (As a Vex main myself: as long as bleed remains relevant, I won’t complain.)
On a related note: a Borderlands 4 player accidentally discovered a busted Torgue weapon that obliterates enemy health bars so quickly it triggers “total existence failure” — “Every instance of damage goes up to 300,000.”
