
English agreed, quipping that she already has “17” such lesser projects lined up and adding, “we don’t have control.” She also recalled being invited to record lines at a studio only to discover later — as Starr put it — “oh, it’s just that.”
“We sometimes will only get our characters’ lines, let alone a whole script,” English added.
From an outsider’s perspective, you might expect actors to know which games they’re working on for reasons ranging from awards eligibility to compensation and personal pride. But that level of visibility isn’t always possible. Starr acknowledged this and said he’s trying to change his own approach: “I am trying to change that for myself. I’m trying to curate a – god, this sounds awful – I am trying to curate a portfolio of work that I’m proud of.”
English recently admitted she’s already appeared in plenty of “shit games,” though she’s managed to keep many of them off her public résumé. As for Starr — well, there’s that Balatro commercial (I kid).
