In a newly released campaign launched on Tuesday, February 24, the global icon showcases the brand’s quintessential ’90s denim lineup, spanning baggy, relaxed, and straight-cut silhouettes.
The centerpiece of the campaign is a vibrant short film set within the nostalgic aisles of a New York City record store. As Jung Kook explores various musical landscapes, each genre triggers a vivid, dance-infused hallucination. These sequences range from a moment of zen-like meditation overlooking the ocean in a sun-drenched coastal home to an avant-garde performance within a striking, monochromatic orange space.
The visual journey reaches its peak when Jung Kook fully embraces the spirit of the 1980s. Channeling Kevin Bacon’s legendary energy, he delivers a spirited routine to Kenny Loggins’ chart-topping hit “Footloose.” The spell is eventually broken by a sharp-witted record store clerk—played by the incomparable Rosie Perez—who humorously reminds him, “This is a record store, not a dance floor.”
“I’ve always gravitated toward Calvin Klein jeans because they are designed for movement and authenticity,” Jung Kook shared in a statement regarding the collaboration. “The pieces in this collection pay homage to the aesthetic of the 1990s while maintaining a sleek, contemporary edge. Merging my passions for choreography, music, and style against the backdrop of New York’s energy was an incredible experience.”
This latest fashion venture arrives during a pivotal moment for the artist. Jung Kook and his BTS bandmates are currently preparing for the highly anticipated release of Arirang on March 20, marking their first full-length collective project since 2020’s Be.
